Hi,

Thanks for the bump. We do talk about how Taylorism differs from Scrum. The work that was done on Taylorism at the time worked for that time so we don't want to discredit it. It just doesn't work for knowledge working professions. The link is to an image of a chart we created in the book that compares the two different approaches.

Hi,

The best question to ask is "why are we scaling"?. If it is because there are dependencies galore as a result of poor architecture and can't release without managing them then you've found the problem to fix (the tech not the process). All too often we see architecture define the products in an organization rather than the other way around. The true need to scale happens when you have multiple teams working on the same product.

Thank you!!! Super sorry somehow we got weeks confused and missed this last week. We are here now
This does sound like a hostile situation as others have mentioned... We believe that a good Scrum Master will step in and work towards resolving this situation. No offense to the junior Scrum Master but we believe that a Scrum Master is a senior position for this very reason.

Scrum aside, this potentially sounds like a situation that needs to be raised to HR.
A ha! The "solving" during the Daily Scrum pattern

Did you know the three questions were just an optional/example of a format the Developers can use for the Daily Scrum? In fact, the three-question approach was removed from the Scrum guide in 2020 (we were excited).

Try changing the format for the event by using Liberating Structures, making them Daily driven, talking about Aging items, etc... We are a big fan of discussing Work Item Aging in a Daily Scrum. We created a video to discuss what Work Item Aging is (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ug0nnELEQn4&list=PL9uyGDiy_ChVfUxjc5gowNg0wW0gLFnx6&index=8). Hopefully, this gives you an idea!!!
Hi,

Glad to be here! Interesting scenario because a Scrum Master is not required to attend the Daily Scrum. It is a meeting by and for the Developers to inspect progress towards the Sprint Goal and adapt a plan for the next 24 hours.

One thing we advocate is reading the Scrum guide (https://scrumguides.org/) as a team and reflecting on it in a retro. That may help We also love the comments indirectly referencing the Scrum values (Openness, Courage, Commitment, Respect, and Focus). It is worth being open to the Scrum Master about how you and the team are feeling. It will help with their growth.
