Hi Archana,
It took me 2 months of devoted study (including a week holiday). And that is something I don't want to do again for some time! I had no know knowledge of XML when I started. I read Prof XML first (left many chapters out) and then read Prof XML Schemas (first 9 chapters) and XLST(first 8 chapters). All this took about 5 weeks. Then I revised them again and in the last week had a look at Skonnard along with various articles.

Hi All,
where do I find the complete list of Microsoft Certified professional exams (MCP)? I would like to do a MCP on ASP.NET, but is only able to find 2 exams which include ASP.NET
(1) 70-315 (Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET) &
(2) 70-305 (Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET )
Both the exams include ADO.NET among other things. Is there any MCP for ASP.NET alone? Or even better, can any one point out the site for the complete list of MCP exams.
Thanks in advance,
regards,
Raj

Hi Syed,
Can you please tell me the MCP exam no. for "Microsoft Certified Professional for ASP.NET". I am able to find only exams
(1) 70-315 (Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual C# .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET) &
(2) 70-305 (Developing and Implementing Web Applications with Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio .NET )
which have ASP.NET in them.
I am new to .Net and is interested in doing a .Net MCP exam on the webside.
thanks and regards,
Raj
Hi All,
I passed the IBM XML exam with 92% yesterday (got 51 out of 55 questions right). Thanks to Javaranch site, particularly the links and mock tests pages. I read Prof XML, prof XML schemas and XSLT (all the recommended books of IBM) and also read Skonnard (which is very good). I also read some articles from developerworks and xml.com.
Thanks javaranch oncegain.
bye for now.

Hi,
I have just started preparing for the XML exam and I managed to get (from friends) "Professional XML" (first edition, not 2nd), "Professional Schemas" and "XLST". Except Professional XML not being the second version, all 3 books match the recommended book list of IBM. Will the version difference be a big problem? Will reading someother book with the correct version of SAX and DOM (for example Essential XML Quick Reference) along with prof XML (1st version) be good enough to pass the test? I am completly new to XML.
Any thoughts on this will be of great help!

Hi,
I am looking for good certification for EJB. I donot want to do SCEA as it has UML and I have already done IBM OOAD with UML. I am thinking interms of IBM 483 and IBM 157 or 158. What is the best exam for EJB? I am not able to find the objectives of the BEA exams. Does the BEA exam cover EJB better?
thanks and regards,
Raj

Hi All,
I am not sure whether javaranch provides a way to upload files. By the looks of it, it doesn't.
If someone figures a way out for this, please let us know.
I will try developer mentor site again in the coming weeks.
Thanks guys.
warm regards,
Raj

Thanks guys
Hi Jayadev,
I don't use the end ")" as part of the URL amd I am able to reach the site OK.
Since I am a new user of develop mentor, I am forced to register before downloading the book and this is where the problem occurs. It doesn't allow me to register. Every time I fill the registration form and hit submit, it displays a error page. When I do it again, I get the error message that the e-mail id (which I entered just earlier) is already registered. I have tried this with different e-mail ids a number of times without success. Did you manage to register today or did u use your earlier registered id to download the book? I think that the problem is with registering new users before downloading the book!
Thanks and regards,
Raj
Hi,
I still cannot find another site (other than http://develop.com/devresources/dmseries.aspx) to download Essential XML - quick reference by Aaron Skonnard. And that site doesn't allow me to register and throws errors.
After reading recommendations about the book on javaranch, I would really like to use it to prepare for the XML exam.
If it is legal share the pdf file with others, it will be of great help if someone who already has the pdf version of the book e-mails it to me.
My e-mail id is rajaram20022001@yahoo.com.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Does anyone know of any site where one can download "Essential XML Quick Reference - Aaron Skonnard et al.". Tried developmentor.com without success. It throws error messages while registering and then says that the e-mail id is already registered!
