Hi All
I don't know it's right place to post this question. The following methods of java.util.logging.Logger class are not printing params to the handlers, just simply printing msg but not params to the handlers, ignoring params.
Any idea?
log(Level level, String msg, Object param1)
log(Level level, String msg, Object[] params)
Thanks,
Anand

Hi Hari
Thanks for your reply. Here is the my app, when user uploads .doc document, I need to convert it to .pdf file and send it to some other process. I heard about MIRA, but I guess it's not in java , all together it's new application, we need to submit request to it and get back the pdf.
Thanks,
Anand

My work is also in the same area of document conversion. I have never come across a good Java API that can convert documents from/to PDF. JPedal and PDF Box are two APIs that allows you to extract text or Images from PDF documents. Still both of them are not guaranteed to work with all PDF files.
There are lots of Windows/COM based commercial packages that can convert your Word document to PDF. If you can explain more about your application, then I might be able to help you find alternatives.

I dont any resources, but general rule of thumb:
1. Always catch SQLException (obviously) and rollback transaction
2. Always close resultset, statement and connection in finally block - use separate methods to close them
Ex:
finally {

closeResultset(rsValidate);
closeStatement(stmtValidate);
closeConnection( connValidate );
}
(even if closeResultset raise exception, closeStatement and closeConnection will be executed)

and closeResultset(Resultset rs) is defined as,
private static final void closeResultset( ResultSet rs ) {
try {
rs.close();
}
catch(Exception ex ) {
}
}
Correct me if I am wrong -
Thanks, Ajay.

Hi all,
I'm creating a HttpURLConnection, and opening connection with some url, here is the code
HttpURLConnection con;
URL url = new URL(getUrlPath());
URLConnection ucon = (URLConnection) url.openConnection();
if (ucon instanceof HttpURLConnection) {
con = (HttpURLConnection)ucon;
After opening connection I would be writing to that url by reading from a file, after that I would be retriving status code from con object
int responseCode = con.getResponseCode()
It works fine if we post a file with data, but if we try to post empty file (no data at all), it gives file not found exception while retriving response code. The File not found exception is with URL. My initial thought is, because we are not posting any data to server, there is only logical connection between client and server until we post some data to server. In normal case when we post file with data, it actually contacting server and we can expect response code for that, where as with out posting any data we are trying to get the status code that's why its giving error b'cos still it's logical connection, i.e with out posting data we are expecting response code from server.
Anybody has idea how we can get rid of this exception while posting empty file?
any help would be much appriciated.
Thanks,
Anand

Hi,
I have 5 loggers (Debug, error, all, info, warning), I’m using my own wrapper classes to use log 4j, when I try to write to log file (separately for each logger), it’s writing to all loggers and duplicating the log statements
Here is the example,
DebugLogger.log(priority, “Log statement” , then it writes this log statement to DebugLogger more than once and to other loggers as well
Am’ I missing any thing, please help me.
Thanks,
Anand
