Hi everyone,
Happy to share that I have passed the OCP Java SE 17 1Z0-829 exam, and wanted to share some studying data with you guys (kind of feedbacks I was searching for myself before taking the test).
For quick background, I have 5 YoE using Java as a Full Stack Eng, and did already skim through the study guide with colleagues 18 months ago before scoring <40% in a mock exam and giving up
I studied around 131 hours in 42 days (~3h/day) during which I:
- read the Study Guide by Selikoff & Boyarski twice (~77h)
- did all the book's questions/quizz once or twice (~34h)
- did & reviewed 8 Enthuware quizzes (~20h)
My last Enthuware scores were 74% and 83%
Scored 78% at the real exam the next day
In retrospect I think I could've spend a little less time reading, do a few more Enthuware quizzes, and take the exam a bit earlier
Exam experience was a bit weird, overseer did not answer my request to use a piece of paper so I assumed it was a no, and he immediately rushed us to start the exam. People kept saying hi when joining so I turned off the sound after ten minutes - assumed the overseer would write if needed. I was a bit more stressed than I thought I would, but was able to finish ~15min before so I took that time to review 5 questions I had flagged and ended up changing one, for the better
Very grateful for Selikoff & Boyarski's Study Guide, very easy and pleasant to read!
Also grateful to all the people that shared their stories/studies

Hope it'll help someone!
