I believe you developed a commercial tool that aids in RCP/Plug-in development. Can you mention what benefits the tool offers?

Thanks.
Ah yes, but most of the SWT books were written years ago and are not current with Eclipse 3.4. What's really needed is an up to date cookbook that addresses advanced issues. For instance, designing suffisticated layouts - similar to the perspectives that make us Eclipse itself.

Thanks for your previous response.
You mentioned in an earlier thread that your book just covers basic SWT. Where can one find in depth coverage of the latest versions of both SWT and JFace?
EPIC is a Perl editor and IDE for Eclipse.

Thanks for responding. Unfortunately (without going into the detail)this approach is not an option. I actually need to examine the URL and determine if it's format is legit without attempting to read from it. Otherwise this would be a good solution for me.

Thanks again,

Neil
Hi,

Can anyone suggest how I can go about validating URLs? It appears that the JDK only throws MalformedURLException if the URL contains an undefined protocol (scheme). I tried the Apache Commons-Validator API which seemed to do the same thing. I want to make sure the rest of the URL is valid as well.

TIA,

Neil
Hi,
Can anyone tell me how I resolve the following Server exception?

<SOAP-ENV:Fault>
<faultcode>SOAP-ENV:Server.BadTargetObjectURI</faultcode>
<faultstring>Unable to resolve target object: gov.dia.SingleRateOfAdvance</faultstring>
<faultactor>/soap/servlet/rpcrouter</faultactor>
</SOAP-ENV:Fault>

This question has been answered.
The RateOfAdvance.class file was not copied to the necessary sub directory.

Hi,
I am having a heck of a time getting the following APACHE SOAP V2.3 service to work. I was wondering if anyone had any constructive ideas?
The following code is the client .jsp file. The service uses session scope because I first want to call the class constructor and initialize the object. Then a second call is made to one of it's methods that requires no arguments:

When I run this client I get the following exception returned:
SOAP-ENV:Server.Exception: gov/dia/RateOfAdvance
I was surprised that getFaultString() returned:
gov/dia/RateOfAdvance
because the service is based on a class named SingleRateOfAdvance. RateOfAdvance is an abstract class that SingleRateOfAdvance extends.

I am also using Apache Tomcat webserver. The only information I have found in the log file pertinent to this problem is:

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
