I have received a below mentioned forwarded message. Which has created chaos and doubts regarding the change in trends of new technology in USA.

In USA the scope of java based web technologies is on the verge of death , due to Microsoft .NET Technology. A lot of persons who have filed their visa through
some companies on the bases of Java Have been denied of have been put on halt , but if you a working on Microsoft Technologies then there is still scope .The
technologies which are in major demand in USA are C++, VC++ , MFC,COM \ DCOM, ASP, Lotus Notes ,TCP\IP, WAP...
And the technologies whose future have got a question mark are JDK, EJB, Servlets, JSP...
A lot of comp, major comp like Citicorp, Motorola, AT&T, ORACLE, HP are cutting off their current manpower. One major reason is also there, that is the tremendous failure of Dot Com Comp, which was catching a lot of Java Prof. A lot of java guys who had got their H-1 has been sent back by their companies and some have been shifted to some other technologies.
So guys if you are planning to move to USA on the bases of one of these technologies.. Stop for a while and think twice

I want to load a xls/doc file when user click on a Button. I receive complete URL and file name to load. After some checking in JSP file I want to load this file. But how? I still unable to find any way to load a URL automatically from JSP. Just like we do in Applet by using command:
AppletContext browser = getAppletContext();
browser.showDocument(pageLink);
can anyone help?

I am also on the way to EJB and was confused about the learning path to EJB but your posting removes the confusion. Can you please provide some good tutorial links for step 2-4

I am SCJP and new to JavaBeans/EJB. By reading previous post I know that both are different but isn't it helpful to learn JavaBeans before learning EJB?
Please also provide some link to JavaBeans good tutorials. (I have seend Sun tutorials on JavaBeans but I need more easy and example based)

Actually I am going through a head hunting firm and I have to find a project after reaching there. So I want to save the time overthere and just want to ask that Is it possible to start searching the project now and mentioning that my H1 visa is in process so I will join after (lets say) 3 months.
I just want another help. I want to prepare best for USA, I have developed some small small projects in JavaSwing+Crystal Report for myself like Personal Management etc. I want some real experience of Java/JSP/Servlet/EJB. Is there any way I can get information on what projects I should work on, what to cover, what software tools require to complete the project and all other project details. I even work as volunteer basis if someone is interested to give me some real project.

I have total 5 years experience in IT field and 1 years in Java. I am also SCJP. My H1 is in process with INS, and I hope to get it by Feb 01. So I have 2/3 months before arriving USA. My destination will be NJ.
Can I get a Job throgh during this period? If yes, please provide some URL etc?
What are the Job opportunities in NJ for me as Java Developer?
What else should I do during this period to make me more & more successfull in USA.

I am SCJP and have 1 year experience on Java developing small projects for practice or for my own use. Can anybody guide me to get a real project on voulenteer basis. I want to get some good experience in Java before joining a job as Java developer

Finally Sun database updated my result after 11 days. Now who know how much I have to wait for certificate/logo through ordinary mail

Congratulation Faiza, I am really glad to know that you passed the exam and you are one more SCJP from Lahore.
But still I am in search of a list which shows how many attempted and how many passed from Lahore, Pakistan and unfortuntely Sun is unable to provide me such type of list, which is very necessary. If you know about this information, please email me the URL.

I am also very much interested in this list. Can it be get from Sun on request? It is very very important to publish this list.

I cleared the exam on 31/12/00 and checking my result status daily at sun site http://www.galton.com/~sun but still this databse is not updated. I sent 4/5 mails on email address [email protected] but no one reply me as yet. I inquired from my prometric center but they told me that they have uploaded my results and now its the responsibilty of Sun to update my results. I am very confused about the situation, why my results are not updated as yet? Sun is very big company and I don't expect this kind of response from them. OK! if there is some problem in updating exam results, they should reply my email but after sending 4/5 mails no one bother to reply me.
Can anybody help me in this regard???

I am a very bad victom of Sun strategy of changing duration of exam like this. My exam was on 31st Dec 2000 and before that it was almost confirm that sun has increased the time to 2hr. But unfortunatelly when I started my paper I shocked to see that my paper is showing time 90 min. I just completed the 59+3 questions in 90 min (yes 3 questions about sun agreement were also included in time which wasted 2/3 min very easily) So I didn't find time to review my answers and I just get 72% marks. In mock exams I was getting 90% to 100% marks.
I am very disappointed on this strategy of Sun.
