Hi guys,

Long time no see.

I guess I heard it from somebody, not from a JavaRanch member, that Sun will launch the SCDJWS 5 by the end of 2008. Is that true? I think it's time to do so.

I just came up with this question because I missed my SCDJWS 1.4.
By the end of February/2008 I moved to The Netherlands. Thus, I rescheduled my exam (in Brazil) by the end of August/2008 (at least, I thought so). Today I checked my Prometric account... and guess what...? The exam date was July 22nd.

I was wondering if it would be interesting to buy a voucher and schedule another SCDJWS 1.4 exam. Maybe I should wait for the beta.

Evelyn, are you there?

With kind regards,
Wilder
Hey, man... You got it!

I remember when I talk to you in the early 2005. So, it is a great progress! Keep the good work in your professional career.

Hi, folks

I read in the instructions document:

Create a class diagram. It is not necessary to provide each method name and attribute in the class.

Does "a class diagrma" mean ONE class diagram? I was wondering if I can do it in a better way, with packages, and supply links for the all the diagrams (model, presentation, business, client, ...). Is it possible?\

So, thanks you again.

Hi folks,

I have just begun my SCEA Part II project and I would like to ask you some questions:

1. Is there maximum numbers? For example, I have designed the first use case, for both web and application modules, and I got 17 classes. Since I'm using some patterns (BusinessDelegate, BusinessObject, ServiceLocator, TransferObject, MVC, ...) and OOAD, I guess I will finish my project with something about 50 classes.

2. What about the detailing of the class diagram? In the instructions document I read that we are not suppose to inform all methods and attributs. But, I don't really know what I should suppress. For example, In my class diagram I'm showing a package representing the stubs for the EJB components. I also show the Home and Remote interfaces.

3. Assumptions notes? If I omit something in order to clarify my design, so should I specify the omited things in these notes? I didn't get the meaning of Assumptions Notes (specified in the instructions.html as a deliverable).

So, guys, I think thats all.

I hope to finish my project at the end of August.

Thank you in advance for the answers.

Best regards,
Wilder C. Rodrigues

Hi, guys!

I've put in my web site a word document with 298 questions for SCEA Part I. Those are in the same level of the whizlabs and the exam.

See: http://planeta.terra.com.br/informatica/javanow

Hi,

Thanks for the answer, Marcelo.

I've been in Brasilia in August, but just for flying connection. I was going to Campinas to present a project at SAMSUNG. Next time, I'll make you know. So, we can meet each other and drink some beers.

Thanks again.

Hi, folks!

I didn't take the exame today. I postponed the exam to November 30th. I didn't feel myself secure enough to try it. So...

But, about the question: what is the version of the EJB specification in the current SCEA exam? Is the EJB 1.1 still asked for?

Wilder

Hi, folks!

I'm desperate!!! I've got a problem with my exam. I have scheduled it on November 17th, but today I tried to change the date. However, the girl from prometric test center asked my exam last week. ... I can't change the date, not anymore.

The worst is: I have some doubts about Legacy and Connectivity, Security and Protocols. I have found some divergencies in my studies in this weekend. For example, the books from Paul Allen and Joseph Bombara, Mark Cade and Symon Roberts, don't talk about Screen Scrapers, Off-board Servers, Reverse Proxy, Active Replication, Passive Replication, VPNs, and so on.

I found a good material on the net about this, but the is passing by.

Could you tell me about the exam version...? Must I know about the point informed above?

Thanks to all!

Hi,

I was wondering on the net yesterday trying to find something about it. My exam is up to November 17th.

"
A reverse proxy is a proxy server that is installed in the neighborhood of one or more webservers. All traffic coming from the Internet and with a destination of one of the webservers is going through the proxy server. There are several reasons for installing reverse proxy servers:

* Security: the proxy server is an additional layer of defense and therefore protects the webservers further up the chain
* Encryption / SSL acceleration: when secure websites are created, the SSL encryption is often not done by the webserver itself, but by a reverse proxy that is equipped with SSL acceleration hardware. See Secure Sockets Layer.
* Load distribution: the reverse proxy can distribute the load to several webservers, each webserver serving its own application area. In such a case, the reverse proxy may need to have to rewrite the URLs in each webpage (translation from externally known URLs to the internal locations)
* Serve/cache static content: A reverse proxy can offload the webservers by caching static content like pictures and other static graphical content (See Squid cache)
* Compression: the proxy server can optimize and compress the content to speed up the load time.

Hi, folks!

I'm about to cross the finish line for the SCEA exam. In this final phase, I'm reviewing the Sun Certified Enterprise Architect for J2EE (ALLEN, Paul. BAMBARA, Joseph), Desing Enterprise Application with J2EE (SUN Microsystems) and Head First EJB (SIERRA, Kathy. BATES, Bert). Is it enough?

Do you have any suggestions about books?

I supose to take the exam November 7th.

I thank you.

Hey, guys!!! I PASSED!!!

And I saw too much efficience in the SUN because I had two Prometric IDs. One with five certifications and other with only one. So, I have sent an email describing my situation and they canceled the other ID and put all my certs in one place.

Thanks,
