Does anybody here have an interest in tool that helps Struts developer a lot? Struts is excellent runtime for web development, but it is not simple. Do anybody ever see empty page come from your application without any clue - why?
Best,
Igor.

Building on the tremendous success of the first release of Struts Studio and incorporating substantial
feedback from the Struts community, Exadel, Inc. has now unveiled a powerful new Web Integrated Development
Environment (WIDE) for Jakarta Struts:

Struts Studio Professional

Struts Studio Professional is available now for download and purchase from http://www.exadel.com/ products_strutsstudio_professional.htm . To read more about Struts Studio see http://www.StrutsStudio.com .

New features.

In addition to full support for Struts 1.0, this new tool from Exadel also supports all of the features of
the recently announced 1.1 release of Jakarta Struts, including:

* Tiles ? a new "template-based" page authoring framework
* Validation Framework ? a "rule-based" engine for validation of user input
* Modules ? special framework for multi-modular web applications
* Support for the use of arbitrary tag libraries
* Ability to print Web Flow diagram with zooming
* And many others...

What about hibernate?

Hibernate is open, but not standard.

Could you please tell us why JDO would be better than Castor? I know that Castor uses the JDO term loosely and Castor's JDO implementation does not follow Sun's JDO guidelines.
But why do you suggest JDO?

That's easy. JDO is open standart - and you can get several implementations very easy. You can choose free open source, or mature commercial implementation - depends from your situation. You will not be locked in specific vendor.
JDO provide you transparent persistence. Castor don't.

Igor.

John, I think you should consider using JDO for persistent layer.

Do you consider using JDO for data assess?
If I understand you right - you try to make application architecture without visible "model" layer. You data go between database and forms bypassing intermediate object layer. This is reasonable design, but you lose some degree of flexibility and loitering your controller layer with data assess logic.

Igor.
