Hello All,

We are using postgresql database for connection pool and we have different processes running under different jvms. My question is: is it possible to share single connection pool by all the processes running under different jvms? If so, how?

thanks & regards

Hello All,

Our Application got into strange state today where every
display or edit user via the GUI failed with oracle error 17008.

There's nothing wrong with the database, situation resolved by restarting of the application.

error received at the app GUI :
ElementException_PreparedStatementCallback; uncategorized SQLException
for SQL
state [null]; error code [17008]; Closed Connection; nested exception
is java.sql.SQLException: Closed Connection [ELEMENT: 5020CSC-A][TYPE:
SN]
Our applicatin running using JBoss 3.2.4 and databas version is Oracle 9.

Any idea why this oracle error 17008 occurred.

Projects I mean in my prev post they are two individual ejb project workspaces created in eclipse. That means I think we have two contexts for two projects.

OK. I'll explain this in detail. We have two versions of products. Say P1 version 1.0 and P2 version 2.0. There is absolutely no problem in P2v2.0 since here beans are developed spring-enabled EJBs. And we have one eclipse workspace project. So we had one application context, hence no issues regading transactions.

But the problem is in older version product i.e P1 v1.0. Here we have individual eclipse workspace projects as I mentioned earlier without usage of springs. So obviously we had individual contexts for every workspace project. And so the beans are in invidual eclipse projects means in individual contexts. Hence the problem arised.

And finally these two products are already sold and hence we cann't user springs in first version now. And this customer presently is not ready to buy the newer version i.e 2.0 product.
This is ok with me if two beans are in the same project. But I forgot to add another thing. These two beans are actually running in two different projects of jboss3.2.4. This is where I'm facing the problem. Can u thro some light on this.

Hello All,

I have a problem EJB transactions in Jboss3.2.4. I have two create methods in two EJBs say createABC in FirstEJB and CreateBCD in SecondEJB. These two methods are called one by one in another file say MyFile.java. Presently these two are individual beans both are running in different transaction(i.e container mentioned in ejb-jar.xml). My problem is how do I bring these two beans under one transaction, so that if one create method fails the transaction will be rolled back and the second create method in second bean shouldn't run. Presently even if one create method fail some times the second create method in second bean is success which we don't want as per the requirement.

Any one has any idea about it?
Hi All.
We are building an application using Java.
This application consumes web services (Java/Apache Axis implementation) and we are facing issues that the application is very slow.

Initially we suspected network and server side responses as culprits.
But on further investigation (we override GetWebResponse and GetWebRequest methods SOAPClient) we have found that the application is spending considerable amount of time (1+ minute) in deserializing the SOAP response from the server.

Has anyone faced such performance issues and any suggestions?

Today I have passed SCWCD1.4 exam. My score is 62% i.e exact pass mark. But I'm happy. I couldn't not score more on EL and JSTL. These were very tuff in exam. Drag & Drop question were really easy.

Exam tackers, try to concentrate more on EL, JSTL and custom tags. I have got 100% on Design Patterns. These are easy, if you really think and answer.

Thanks to Java Ranchers for providing me timely help.

Thanks once again.

Both should be fine. I completed both SCJP followed by SCBCD and now planning to take up SCWCD before next month.

If you have basic knowledge of Servlets/JSP then take up SCWCD or else if you have any idea on EJB take up SCBCD.

OK probabaly most of the professionals prefer SCJP, SCWCD and SCBCD order. It's totally up to you to decide.
