Is it possible to read response header. I wanted to check result of "allow"
response header, but I do not know how to do that. I know doOptions() method is called by service() method for OPTIONS request. But, I would like to see how does it happen, I mean result of "allow" response header.

Today I was uploading the assignment, but got the message that you do not permession to upload the assignment. I have sent mail to SUN regarding this.
But from the other post in forum, looks like it takes 2 business days to get the permission to upload the assignment.
With this, I will have to wait atleast till Monday to do the uploading.
I have plan to appear in the follow up exam on Monday. But, without submitting the assignment, can I appear in the follow up exam?

Thanks for reply Denis and Berk.
This is solved.
Actually is has to be :
file:///C:\scjd\userDocs\ui\LogOnUserDoc.htm

As per the URL syntax:
protocol://hostname/file
Since hostname part in blank in this case:
it will be "file:///file"
that is "file:///C:\scjd\userDocs\ui\LogOnUserDoc.htm".
But surprisingly, windows 2000 and Linux did not give any error with url "file://C:\scjd\userDocs\ui\LogOnUserDoc.htm". However Windowx XP is giving UnknowHostException for this url.

Akask
Thanks Denis for your reply.
I am not able to resolve this issue. This problem only comes when I test
my FBN Assignment on XP. On Linux and Windows 2000, I get user help doc, that is an HTML page.

DOCUMENTATION_URL resolved as :
file://C:\scjd\userDocs\ui\LogOnUserDoc.htm
And my file is in this location. In fact with this URL(file://C:\scjd\userDocs\ui\LogOnUserDoc.htm) , IE browser displays the LogOnUserDoc.htm. I do'nt why it is not resolving this URL from the code on XP.

I am getting "java.net.UnknownHostException: C", when invoking user help doc on Windows XP. Same code works fine on Linux and Windows 2000.
Here is my code:

Could any help me on this. Why am I getting this error on Windows XP.
Regards.

Thanks Andrew and Kmadan.
Finaly, I got through the problem.
Actually solution to this problem
java.rmi.server.hostname property.
As of JDK 1.3.1 this property is set to localhost, and my localhost is
127.0.0.1 on linux and actual ip address is 192.169.1.102, name is Akash in /etc/hosts file. Therfore, Windows 2000 client was always trying to connect to 127.0.0.1 on linux. I think this is a problem on Linux.
When i started started RMI server on Linux as:
java -Djava.rmi.server.hostname=Akash -jar DataServer-with-DataServerUI.jar
I was able to connect to RMI server on Linux from windows 2000 RMI client.

Thanks again to you guys.

Still not able to connect. I looked into all your suggestions.
I have no firewall on Linux machine. I can telnet to linux machine.
I do not have any connection problem. But still i am not able to connect
to RMI server on Linux from windows 2000.
I have a question. In my current client code to get the ref
of remote object, i have

Will it make any difference,if I change it to:

I am at final stage for submission of old FBN assignment.
I am testing on Linux and Windows 2000.
Case 1:
RMI Server is running on Window 2000 and Client is running on Linux.
I am able to connect.
Case 2:
RMI Server is running on Linux and Client is running on Window 2000 .
When I try to connect to RMI Server, I get the error message
java.rmi.ConnectException: Connection refused to host: 127.0.0.1; nested excepti
on is:
java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused:

I have added the ip address of the linux machine in /etc/hosts file.

I did netstat -an after starting the RMI server,
it shows that RMI service is running on 1099.

Is there any thing else I am missing?

Akash

When I press "Tab" key in the last row and last column of the populated rows(in JTable), control is not transferring to Flight No (JTextField)which is the Booking Panel(JPanel)on my Booking Screen.
Similarly, pressing "Shift+Tab" in the first row and first column of the populated rows, control is not transferring to Departure Field(JComboBox) which is the Search Panel(JPanel).

I have implmented Accelerator keys for JMenu items. It works fine, when
focus is on the JButton. But if focus is in the JTextField/JComboBox, accelerator keys do not work. How can i solve this.
I have "CTRL-X" -- Accelerator key for Exit,"CTRL-A" -- Accelerator key for About and "F1" -- Accelerator key for Documenation.
However, this is not true for "F1" which is Acclerator Key for "Documentation". When I press "F1" , it invokes doc file, irrespectve
of the control on the window.
