In Liferay,
preference settings are divided into local and remote settings. The local preferences are used
to de ne the four producer interfaces while the remote preferences are for portlet settings which
are what users normally do in the edit mode. Liferay was also found to be able to retrieve the
available remote portlet list automatically from the WSRP4J producer. The edit
support is fully functional in Liferay, but it failed to open the remote help page, displaying an
empty page instead suggesting the help mode was not fully supported.

JFreeReport do have xml based report definition. Only data for the report is set as a TableModel.
The problem was solved ... Servlet Invoker was commented by default in JBoss web.xml file. I have uncommented it and it works now.

Hi All,
I wanted to port an application from Tomcat to JBoss. I copied the war file from tomcat to JBoss. I was getting error in executing the servlet from JBoss . Then i just created a simple application with 1 servlet in new.war file which has the following structure
/Test.html
/WEB-INF/classes/com/servlet/TestServlet
/web.xml (this maps com.servlet.TestServlet to Test)
When i tried http://localhost/new/Test.html it works.
When i tried http://localhost/new/servlet/Test it does'nt work and
the error from JBoss-Tomcat is "404 requested resource not found(new/servlet/Test).
Do u have any idea why its not working..?

If you are talking about the Security Principal in JAAS, then you will not have any problem as long as the server supports JAAS.

Hi,
I am sure about one dis advantage of going to procedures. i.e., it makes it purely database dependent. Its not possible to bind those logics to a different RDBMS when you switch over later.

Entity beans provide a way to avoid this situation. You can Entity beans as Objects mapped to the tables of your database, so that you can easily use it in your code and dont have to worry about connecting to database etc. Just take the tables in your DB as objects and go with your coding part and rest of the things like connection pooling on ur DB, transaction on the DB etc is container's head ache.

Hi Sharma,
Yes, exactly.. i guess we can conclude by saying that.
Arun
Hi Sharma,
I mean we are not implementing remote interface on EJB Object. We are just implementing SessionBean or EntityBean on EJB Iobject. But we are extending EJBObject interface (which is derived from java.rmi.Remote) only on the remote interface which is going to form stub on clientside and skeleton on server side. And anyway that task is handled by the container. But it can indirectly give response to remote clients through Remote Interface which makes them look like network enabled.
Cheers
Arun
Hi,
As long as i know , defeinitely the object and skeleton are two different object, whether u take the case of EJB or simple RMI objects. Skeleton and stub are created by the EJB container for communicating with actuall object along the Network. We are implementing remote interface to enable the EJB object to communicate remotely with the client.
