I know this thread is really old....
Does anyone have a solution on how to do this in DB2?
Select * from X where database returns only rows 21 through 30.
Thanks.
thanks good reply.. dont know y i forgot garbage collection
lets say that i have connections to database, mainframes, the moon etc... open.. do they remain open if i do not close them in the destroy method or do they remain in limbo until the jvm is turned off.
and when does the container unload a servlet, is there a reason why it should unload the servlet. is there any way, say on tomcat that i could go and look this info up..
thanks for the quick reply..
when is a servlets destroy method called?
done, did not know about that...

any ideas, clues, anyone?

tried that already, the log using log4j tells me that the httpservletresponse has been delievered. See, on IE, there is no problem, this happens on mozilla and firebird. We are going to be installing on mozilla base soon and this will create customer service nightmares...

This is the code in the servlet for transforming to gzip or not depending on the accept-encoding parameter
<code>
if (supportsGzip == true) {
GZIPOutputStream out = new GZIPOutputStream(res.getOutputStream());
res.setHeader("Content-Encoding", "gzip");
res.setContentType("text/html");
transformer.transform(xmlSource, new StreamResult(out));
out.close();
} else {
ServletOutputStream out = res.getOutputStream();
res.setContentType("text/html");
transformer.transform(xmlSource, new StreamResult(out));
out.close();
}
</code>
In most cases this works perfectly and the performance improvements are tremendous. But every once in a while I get garbled characters on the browser, IE or mozilla both do it.
Anyone come up against this. Would really appreciate it. Gotta roll this out soon.

In my servlet application the message "transferring data from locahost...." is what I see on the status bar of the mozilla and firebird browser but in IE i see done.
Any ideas what could be causing this??
Thanks
