Hi All,

Thanks william for the reply.The url cleared the confusion.

I would also appreciate, if anyone could provide me with web resourse/pdf doc detailing(steps) how would you go about using two methods rpc/literal and document/literal using Apache Axis during webservice development(esp. Client code).

Thanks,
Suresh

Hi Ranchers,

Iam new to webservices. I would be greatful if anyone could point me to some resource (that uses apache axis) which lists down the difference in terms of coding perspective between - rpc/literal and document/literal.

Some simple sample code using apache axis would help a lot.

Thanks in advance,

Hi all,
Iam working on my scwcd certification. I was trying to run the AdviceBean example in HF on websphere.
I would like to know if anyone has written down steps for running EJB on websphere. If yes, I would like to have a copy of it.
Which is the best book to start learning how to use websphere???
thanks,

SCJP,SCWCD
Hi all,
My jsp files which use javabeans were working perfectly till I added and removed some jar files. Iam not sure if I removed anything that was needed.
Now when I load my jsp files Iam getting error:-
java:426: Method getClassLoader() not found in class tamu.library.portal._login_5F_process_jsp_30.
vgnTC = (com.vignette.cds.client.beans.TemplateContext) Beans.instantiate(getClassLoader(), "com.vignette.cds.client.beans.TemplateContext");
The JVM settings in the server have path to j2ee.jar.And my other jsp file work fine, the trouble is with the bean loading.
Can somebody help me solve this.
I would also like to know which is the est book to learnusing websphere:- from certification point of view.
thanks,
suresh

Hi all,
Here is the content of the mail I got from- SunCert@thomson.com
"Exam: Sun Certified Web Component Developer for J2EE 1.4 (bold) It is
strongly recommended that beta test takers have 6-12 months experience
in Enterprise JavaBeans(TM). Please allow five business days to receive
your electronic voucher and test objectives."
Do we need to have 6-12 months of EJB to take the beta SCWCD??? If yes, then please let me know which new section represents EJB.
thanks,
suresh
SCJP 1.4
Here is the coede:-
//----------------------Code
selectstmt = "DELETE FROM AMDB.WOPAC_PID_PATRON_KEYS WHERE PATRON_KEY='"+patronkey+"'";
stmt.executeUpdate(selectstmt);

selectstmt = "INSERT INTO AMDB.WOPAC_PID_PATRON_KEYS ( PID, PATRON_KEY) VALUES ("+pid+","+patronkey+
")";
ri = stmt.executeUpdate(selectstmt);
//At this point I print out the values in the database into the log file.

stmt.close();
m_conn.close();
if (ri == 0) {
System.err.println("Table update Failed, Patron key: "
+ patronkey);
response.sendRedirect(referer + "authenticate=N&"
+ cgistr);
} else {
System.out.println("Table update Successful, Patron key: "
+ patronkey);

//The table gets updated if I comment following part. If not the page gets redirected but the table does not get updated???
I tried to redirect using javascript :- Window.open(URL,_self) it works ie. the page gets redirected and the table also gets updated. This means that sendredirect is not emptying the buffer before redirecting to the other page..

/*response.sendRedirect(referer + "authenticate=Y&"
+ "LGNT=1&BC=" + uin +"&"
);
*/
}//if
//--------------The program ends here
Hi all,
I am facing a situation where the response.sendRedirect is preventing table update.
If anyone has faced simillar situation then please let me know the way out.
thanks in advance,
suresh
SCJP 1.4
Hi all,
This is Java-Oracle issue.
Iam trying to insert the record and the record gets updated only when I try to violate the unique constraint on the table. Whenever the sqlException is thrown the table gets updated.
try{
//executeUpdate statements
}catch (SQLException sqle) {
System.err.println(sqle.getMessage());
System.out.println("Error thrown :-"+sqle.toString());
response.sendRedirect(referer + "authenticate=N&" + cgistr);
}
Is this anything to do with the buffer?
Hi all,
Iam new to this forum. I am about to start my preparation for SCBCD exam. I have standalone tomcat running on my pc. Is there any way I can get EJB container.
In short how do I set up the environment to practice EJB without spending any money....
My other question was - which appserver is more popular to work on EJB- Apache/Websphere??
thanks,
suresh
I created a new table with same fields and tried inserting the records, it worked fine.
This is the reason Iam guessing that there must be some constraint on the table that is preventing inserts.
Any input is welcome...
