Hello,
I am a newbie to Maven. I have just begin to use maven 1.0 as a build tool for my projects.

I created a maven goal called "deploy" that creates jar files and copies them over to the my tomcat webapps folder. I have configued the path to tomcat under "maven.tomcat.home" in my build.properties file

I also have two other tomcat instances titled tomcat1 and tomcat2. I usually run the "deploy" goal and copy over the jars files that was put in one of the tomcat instances to tomcat1 and tomcat2. This has to be done everytime I execute the "deploy" goal.

Is there a way in Maven whereby I can execute this deploy goal and have my jars copied over to the webapps/ folder of all the three tomcat instances simultaneously instead the copy and paste procedure that I am currently using.

I have searched for documentation on this issue without much success. Any pointers/suggestions would be highly invaluable.

thanks,
vishwak

Hello,
I am not sure whether this is the appropriate forum to post this. Please excuse me if I have made an error. I have been using HeadFirst Servlets and JSP and I compiled the BeerSelect.java code (the second version of the controller servlet).
I get the following error message saying that the package com.example.model does not exist. Please help me as I am unsure how to proceed with debugging this issue. I have pasted the error message below

D:\MyProjects\beerV1>javac -d classes src/com/example/web/BeerSelect.java
src/com/example/web/BeerSelect.java:20: cannot access src.com.example.model.BeerExpert
bad class file: .\src\com\example\model\BeerExpert.java
file does not contain class src.com.example.model.BeerExpert
Please remove or make sure it appears in the correct subdirectory of the classpath.
BeerExpert be = new BeerExpert();

Thanks,
Vishwak

Hi,
Thanks a lot. I am now able to connect to oracle and make my entity beans
work
vishwak
I have two entity beans StudentEJB and CourseEJB which implement a M:N relationship. The beans implement local interfaces. StudentEJB has a method
called getCoursesOfStudent() which returns as the list of courses a student is
involved in as an ArrayList. The code snippet is as follows:
public ArrayList getCoursesOfStudent() {
ArrayList courseList = new ArrayList();
Collection courses = getCourses();
Iterator i = courses.iterator();
while (i.hasNext()) {
LocalCourse courselocal = (LocalCourse) i.next();
String course_name = courselocal.getCourseName();
courseList.add( course_name );
}
return courseList;
}
when i try to save the ear file containing StudentEJB and CourseEJB i get the following error
Exception
ERROR: [DeployToolWindow.saveAction:1049]
Saving
java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sun.enterprise.deployment.EjbExternalDescriptor
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
java.lang.ClassCastException: com.sun.enterprise.deployment.EjbExternalDescriptor
at com.sun.enterprise.deployment.EjbReferenceDescriptor.getValue(EjbReferenceDescriptor.java:198)
Is this something to do with ArrayList data structure that i return
Could some please help me with this regard

Hi,
I am a newcomer to EJB. I have to use CMR on one of my projects.I have a question regarding the use of ejbSelect methods in a CMR. I have two entity beans StudentEJB and CourseEJB which have a M:N relationship with each other with the studentId variable of StudentEJB being related to the courseNo variable of CourseEJB. Can ejbSelect methods be used to determine in such a case the courses that a student is enrolled in instead of using session tracking to track the student's id and then retrieve the courses based on studentId.
Could some please help me in this regard
Thanks,
Vishwak
