Thanks for the help. I initially wanted to use some Win API, but I think you are right, this would make it platform dependent and I shortest way might be just to write and check for an error.

I would like to know what's the best way to check the drive type using Java SDK 1.3 on Windows platform?
For example, is there a way to check if the file is on a CDROM or a Hard Drive. Basically I would like to know if its a writable drive or not.

Hi,
I am trying to review the best commercial Graph/Chart tools for purchase. The tool needs to generate 2D/3D graph reports. I have had experience with the Oracle Reports 6i's graphing tool, but frankly it sucks.
I have reviewed the Graphing tool marketed by VisualMining Corp., if anyone has opinions on their tool or any other interactive graphical reporting solutions, please do respond.

I passed the SCJP1.4 today.I plan to prepare for the SCWCD next. I am aware that a new SCWCD exam is coming up
From the information I have gathered in these forums it looks like the best books for SCWCD are:
1. SCWCD Exam Kit by Mr. Hanumant Deshmukh
2. Core Servlets and JavaServer Pages, by Marty Hall
Any more suggestions regarding books or any useful information on the web in terms of URLs are greatly appreciated!

I would like to know if anyone can inform me how bad or good are Jobs for Java in Florida (specifically: Jacksonville/Gainesville, Talahasse, Melbourne etc). Just a general account will suffice.
I did do job searches on Monster, Dice but would like to hear from people actually working there.
I have 7-years of programming experience including 3 years in Java.
