HI, can anyone please provide me the steps how to integrate WAS 5.0 with TOMcat web server or
WAS 5.0 with ibm http web server.
Hi ,
I am using borland together 6.2. with IBM WSAD 5.1.
I have made one ejb project and created class and sequence diagram successfully on my machine say machine first.
Now i have to transfer these class diagrams to some other machine say machine second.so that on other machine one can modify the class diagrams.
Now my problem is how to export the class diagrams from machine fisrt and how to import the class diagram on machine second.
I have exported the whole ejb.jar file but cud not able to see the class diagram on secpond machine.

Can someone provide me a sample code / case study for MVC arch.
I just wanted to get the feel of real code.
It would be great if i can get both MVC without EJB and MVC with EJB.

thanks :-))
Once i have been asked by some one why do u use finally block ?
i said if i want to execute some code irrespective excpton caught or not.
like close the connection..
and then he asked is this is good to put code in finally block ,doesnt it create some sort of overhead. if u awant to close the connection , u can put the line 'connection.close(); ' in end of try block and in the end of each catch block.
plz discuss it.

Thanks for nice explanation ,
but consider the case in which out application is making connection with database and/ or writing to some data file . so when an abnormal condition occur cant we close the connection with database and/or closing the o/p stream ??? like if we leave the o/p stream open then no data will be written on the file..

My question is that i have seen almost in every code that we use Exception in catch not Error.
in a general code flow,if we use the try -catch block ,we usually catch the exceptions and the last catch statement of our try-catch block is
catch(Exception e) { } e.g
try {
// some code say I/O activity
}catch(IOException ioe){ //.. }
catch(Exception e){ // .. }
why we dont use catch(Error er) { //..}
As we know that java.lang.Throwable is the super class of java.lang.Exeption why we dont use catch(Throwable te) { // .. } in the end of try-catch block.
I know that there is no technically error to use catch(Error e)we can do it but it doesnt come i coding generally , WHY ? is there any specail purpose of it.
What is the difference between Error and Exception.

Probably something like this. This gives me something to research a bit. But a better guess would be that n number of rows are cached in memory for .next() and when more rows are needed, then the DB is hit again.

Your mean to say both our application's cache memory and database's temp memory used to store the data reulsted from a querey.
say if a select query results in 10000 rows. database temp memmory will store say first 3000 rows , and our application memory will store 100 rows. for first 100 rows resultset will fetch it brom cache on local and for next it will look upon database temp cache and so on..

Yes !!! Thanks now its more clear.
now tell me which one is bettr..
Connection con = null;
try{
// open the connection here
// some code with database communication
// now in the end close the connection
con.close();
}catch(SQLException sqe) {
con.close();
}catch(Exception e){
con.close();
}
***** OR ****
try{
// open the connection here
// some code with database communication
// now in the end close the connection
con.close();
}catch(SQLException sqe) {
}catch(Exception e){
}
finally {
con.close();
}

IS there any performance overhead with finally block ???

OR
String s2 = "hello";

You should explicitly close the result sets, statements and connections when you are done, to make sure the resources are released on the database side.

okey once connection get closed , resultset is automaticaaly get closed.
but why is it so ?? why is resultset is on connection dependent.
I also have one thing to know....
if we override the init(config) method . and dont call the super(config) ..what wud happen...will the instance of servlet will get created or not.. is this mandatory.

what if we override the init(ServletConfig) and dont call super(). will it create the instance of servlet.what the mean fo passing servletConfig object to the servlet other than initialze parameter and giving referenve of server environment.
