It is possible to have the webapplication directory outside tomcat.

I have done this in tomcat 4.x where we have to modify the server.xml.There we can specify the doc base to our local directory.

I believe it has changed in tomcat 5.x.You can get more info by following this link

Hi all,
Do you have any idea of JCAPS certification(Sun Certified JCAPS Integrator CX-310-502).
Do we have any book available in India.

Should we not have a separate forum list like scjp,scwcd etcc....

I believe JCAPS is nothing but SeeBeyond System integrator tool.

With the existing requirements in webservices and SOA,ESB the use of System Integration tools (jcaps) would increase for faster deployment.

Your suggestion are welcome.

thanks

Question from Andy
" Can anyone recommend a good book on J2ME certification? "
As far as i know SPEC's are more than sufficient and if you could grab Sathyas notes they would help before the exam.
I tried demo Mock from Wizlab once before the exam.I also tried some questions posted by Kathy in this forum.

Regarding the other question on J2ME opportunities i would say there are plenty as the demand is more than the supply.

We are finding it hard to get J2ME resources.

Thanks for every one for your wishes.

Cheers

I passed certification with 63%.

This site was useful for me though not much post in recent times.

I have working experience in Mobile and read once the Spec's and Sathya's notes.

did not have much time to study and my voucher was expring so had to give the exam.

any way thanks for all.

guys,
Currently we have a situation where a Stateless session bean S calls Entity bean E.The Session bean S has a Method M which does a findByPrimayKey operaton for getting the Maximum record and adds ONE to it and inserts using a Create Statement.The Traction attribute is set as Reqired for all beans.
The Question here is if there is concurrent access which this logic Succeed.
OR
What is the best way of handling these type of increment in code .

hi ,
Guys i think my previous question is confusing.I am making my question as simple as possible.?? please answer

I just need to find how to configure a CMP bean to point to one database and another CMP bean with in the same applicaiton to another database.

In conf directory i have this config
standardjbosscmp-jdbc.xml
<defaults>
<datasource>java:/MySQLDS</datasource>
<datasource-mapping>mySQL</datasource-mapping>
--
--
</defaults>

in deploy directory i have
mysql-ds.xml as
<local-tx-datasource>
<jndi-name>MySQLDS</jndi-name>
<connection-url>jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/db</connection-url>
<driver-class>com.mysql.jdbc.Driver</driver-class>
<user-name></user-name>
<password></password>
</local-tx-datasource>

One DB is mysql .

I need to connect to another DB which might be any .Can any one give ideas how to add the configuration information for other db so that my other CMP looks out for that.

Put it another way how to tell to CMP to look to a different database.

Hi all,
Currently in my project i have CMP beans which have access to the databse at a specified location.But the problem is that one module require to
access data from a different DB at a different location.Can i use CMP to access that if so how should i specify that CMP alone to access the other database.One option i am confident of is that i can model it as BMP and make a connection and handle transaction as well with user transaction.

guys please suggest some ideas to access it with CMP.I am using JBOSS 3.2.3 .

Now mysql-ds.xml contains the connection to the first database i am using.

My doubt is how to the CMP beans know Which database to Use.Where to find the mappings.if i know this i can map my other CMP bean alone to point to the other database.

thanks
siva
