Hi,
I have a XML schema snippet as follows:
<xs:element ref="authorizedLoanAmount" type="xs:float"/>
<xs:element name="loanOriginationDate" type="xs ate"/>
<xs:element name="firstDisbursementAmount" type="xs:float">
Is there a way I can put a business rule in this schema that the firstDisbursementAmount must be less than or equal to authorizedLoanAmount?
I had a feeling that something like this cannot be done. Please let me know.
Thanks and warm regards,
~Kapil

Hi,
I have been working with XML/XSL for four months and would like to go in for the certification.
Some doubts:
1. Which test do I take, 140 or 141?
2. I have Professional XML 2nd Edition with me. Will that be sufficient?
3. Is there some kind of weightage for each of the topics? Which are the most important ones?
4. How much time will it take me to get certified considering that I have been working in this for the last four months?
Please let me know soon.
Thanks and warm regards,
Kapil

Hi,
I had taken the SCJP in June last year, and passed with 86%. Now I intend to go in for Sun Certified Enterprise Architect Certification.
I had some questions:
1. How much time will it take? (I have been working with Java for 2 years now)
2. What the preparation resources?
3. What kind of study plan should I adopt?
Looking forward to hearing soon.
With warm regards,
Kapil
Hi,
I have tried to install RH Linux 7.0 and 7.1 on my PC. When I boot from the CD, it detects the CD, prints a message like SysLinux - version - date and the installation stalls. Why is this happeneing?
How do I go about creating a bootable floppy? The size of the boot image is 1.7 MB
What is the use of the rawrite command? What is the file name of the image file which I copy to the floppy?
Any help would be most welcome.
Kapil

Hi,
I want to install Linux on my Win95 machine. First of all I would like to partition the harddisk in a non destructive fashion. I tried FIPS utility that came on my Linux CD, but it is not allowing me to partition the hard disk.
Can someone help me and tell how do I go about the installation and the partitioning process? What kind of partition is required to install Linux? Or is FDISK the only way out?
Cheers

Hi Sona,
Yes you can. You have an option of marking the questions as well as reviewing them later on.

Hi,
I am just back from my exam. I got 51 out of 59, that equates to 86%.
Feeling really great today.
But I am so tired, that I have not the strength to type in any more details right now. So I will get back later, and give the details of my experience at that time.
Thank you Javaranch! Thank you Ajit, Mapraputa, Jane, Thomas and Shailesh. I will hang around from tomorrow onwards and offer what I have to to all others!

Hi,
I had scheduled my test for today morning. I had really slogged for it. But I could not take it because the test center was having some technical problems.
I would now have to reschedule my test. What that means is that I lose all my tempo which I had built for today. In my prep so far I got 84% on Marcus and 76% on JQ+.
How should I got about my studies now? Please tell me what would be a better strategy for studying now....till I take my test ten days later.
Thanks and regards
Kapil
Hi,
I am unable to view the answers to my questions. The link points to some other page.
http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/009247.html -- NullPointerException
http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/009249.html -- String Pool
Could someone from javaranch tell me where did my queries vanish?
Thanks and regards

Hi,
Can an inner class be a subclass of the outer class?
I think this is not legal. An inner class can extend any other class or interface.
Correct me if I am wrong.

Hi,
This prints "In run" and "Leaving run" :
public class ThreadTest extends Thread {
public void run() {
System.out.println("In run");
yield();
System.out.println("Leaving run");
}
Does this mean that calling yield() on the thread does not cause the thread to immediately stop executing? Does it complete the current run() method before yielding?
Regards,
Kapil
public static void main(String args []) {
(new ThreadTest()).start();
}
}
Hi,
This is from JXam ver 1.81:
Which methods will stop a thread from executing?
wait()
notify()
yield()
suspend()
sleep()
wait(), yield() and sleep() are obvious. But will suspend() also be an answer? Because although it is deprecated, it will still cause the thread to stop.
Am I using an older version of Jxam?
Regards,
Kapil
