I have an application written in 1.4.2 deployed through javaws through the jnlp-file: dagbok.jnlp. This works perfectly with 1.4.2 but not at all with 1.5 when invoked from Web Start. It works started as an application with 1.5 locally so there is no problem in the program itself. I have not found the relevant information at java.sun.com. Can anyone here help?

I just found out that calling JTextArea.getText() seems to truncate the string if it contains a newline. How do I work around this?

Does anyone know if it is possible to get JTable to wordwrap and display multiple lines of text within a singel cell?

I'm running a Swedish PC with Slackware 9.1 and most of the time KDE3.1.4. I can not find a way to get the JVM to accept input of 'foreign' characters from my keyboard. I have tried:
altering X11 config.
running Gnome - XFCE - Console only
java -Duser.encoding=8859_1
java -Duser.locale=sv_SE
My guess is that there is an environment variable missing for the JVM somehow, but which?
Any suggestions helpful.
