Try this if you are using myfaces in web.xml. This works only if state_saving_method = "client"

org.apache.myfaces.COMPRESS_STATE_IN_CLIENT = "true" This compresses the HTML Response

Thanks for the response..
I found the answer.

javax.faces.viewState maintains only the component tree with its values.
Example. if a page has a an input text and the value(Field Name="test") user enters for that text is 10, it stores this value.

When the scope of hte managed bean set to session, the values stored in httpSession.

If you try to change the value of "test" in MB to 15, on the response postBack we get only 15. Which implies that the value is restored from MB.

Hi,

There may be lot of threads on this topic. But i could not find the answer for my scenario
Scenario:
I have a Managed Bean scope set to session.
State Saving method = client.

Question:
1) I know that the state of the page would be stored in Html as hidden field.
Does this include the instance of the backing bean generated on this page as well?.
2) This hidden field javax.faces.ViewState stores only the component tree?.
3) if we set the managed bean scope to session, the instance of the managed bean is saved in httpSession on server?.

I have tried google and no concrete answer for this.
May be I am missing somewhere.

Valid answers with reference would help a lot.

Thanks.

Sivakumar,

A small suggestion, before posting a question, please do a simple search on the topic you are looking answers for.

This forum has many threads that discuss about the materials and books.

That will help you a lot.

Thanks
Kavitha
Hi

try this..

Syntax:
void setAttribute(java.lang.String name, java.lang.Object value)
Binds an object to this session, using the name specified.

A simple search in Servlet API will solve your problem. So do some basic work before asking help from anyone. Sorry to be too hard. But that will really help you.

Vikas,
We are successful in rendering pdf into browser for quite sometime. Had a problem with IE5 which sends multiple requests. But with IE6 with SP2, it is been solved.
This is the code we use to render pdf content into browser. Working fine with Firefox too.

* data[] is the content of PDF file

Hi,

Take Dons exam. That will really help you. Even if you are not able to get very great score, just give a try. Dont worry about the score at this point. The sample questions will give you better idea. Even if you are not able to complete all the test, concentrate on specific objectives which you feel worth trying.

Dont get tensed. Just go & write the exam.
Just refresh with your notes once again on the previous day of your exam.

All the Best.
Hi
There are compilation errors in your code. The corrected version is

Upon execution this code will print not equal.
Hai

I got 70%. My aim was just to clear the exam.
I used K&B. My experience with the exam is K&B is more than enough if you know the basics. But concentrate each & every line in K & B book & walk thro all the self tests in each chapter carefully.
Try to get good score in it.
Concentrate (work & code) on multithreads, GC & overload/Override. Generally other chapters we use in our everyday work.

It is really simple than Donscholm tests. Best is try to do more mock exams & understand the concepts
