I have an applet which is initialized from a JSP page with different parameters. But it doesn't work. What I do is plot a bar graph from the incoming paremeters. That means, I select something and depending on that, jsp page put the new parameters in the page and send it. How can I make it work?
I thank you all for helping me all the time, when I required it.

Tom,
Thanks for the advice but which function should I use? I used writeUTF(String s) for "Hello World!" but it puts a "?" before Hello.. and what about "\r\n". I am trying with writeChar('\r') as well as writeChars("\r\n"); don't work.

Hi,
I am trying to write "Hello World!" in a file name x.txt. Previously the file contained "I am Ananda". I want Hello World to be in the exact next line. How do I do that? I am using RAF and writeUTF but it doesn't go to next line and put a "?" before Hello. I know about writeUTF, why it's writing the ? but wondering if there any other way to do this.
Please help.

I don't understand why you guys are thinking about Java Jobs.. do you know/think that Dot com companies were using only Java? All of them? I don't think so.. What about ASP? HR? Finance? Database Administrator? Network Manager? So many jobs have been lost by the Dot com bust.. don't worry much..

My God!!
Are we talking about the JVM manufacturer? Like, sun JVM and Microsoft JVM (anything else?) may use different criterias to decide whether the chunk of memory is elligible for GC?
Ananda.
If you put i = i++; instead of i = ++i; then only the answer will be 0, that was a earlier discussion.

Hi,
I have modified B.java file and want to access only a.i it gives me compiler error saying "I can't access the protected i". Is it because, protected variables can't be accesed by instantiation?
Ananda.

package p2;
import p1.*;
public class B extends p1.A {
public static void main(String[] args) {
A a = new A();
System.out.println( a.i); // Compiler error
System.out.println( getI()); // OK, returns 10
}
}
Logically speaking, we don't have to put "" around abstract but if they ask String s = "java"; what's the result of s.substring(1,3). Then we will have to type "av".
Experts, please rescue us.
Jane,
I don't understand what you mean by "I'm going to move this over to certification study" the discussion is in Certification study itself..
Just curious..
Ananda.
I tried the trial version, for that, you have to download JCertify40Eval.zip, then exatract the .exe file and run it.. it will install the software.. it's very easy to run from the windows program menu.
