ok, thank you very much, but then... can i use tag attributes out of the tag file?, let's say in the including page?
sorry but, the book says (pagen 494) that the tag attributtes cannot even be used within the same page
i'm confused... what's the truth about tag attributes... they are just in the tag scope or also in the page-scope?

pag 494, BANG section, says-...

All tag attributes have tag scope. That`s right, just the tag. Once the tag is closed, the tag attributtes go out of scope...

pag 567, question 18, says ...

Which are true abou the tag file model?
And one of the correct anwers is...

For each attribue declared and specified in a tag file, the container creates a page-scoped attribute with the same name

that's contradictory for me, can anybody help me please?
Many thanks Kathy... you always save me
I'm studyng Head First Servlets & JSP, is that enough?, Do i have to read the complete specicication in order to pass the SCWCD 1.4 exam?

Servlets 2.4... 300
JSP 2.0... 470
JSLT 1.1... 250

.... over 1000 pages... wow

please...can anybody tell me if that is needed?
any experience in EJB, today i passed the SCBCD exam with 90%, before my preparation, i didn't have any knowledge about EJB. Many thanks to Kathy and Bert your book is simply wonderful, ok i had to study three times the book , but it was my only study guide (ok, also a quick review of Mikalai Zaikin guide) and that was enough.

what's the best exam simulator?... ok,ok, i guess the best is the HFEJB Mock Exam, but what about EJBPlus and SoftSCBCD?
Ok, then i guess i can pass the exam without go through the spec pages, but if i can i'm going to do it?

Thanks
I've been studied with HFEJB but i dot know for sure if that's enough... as far as i know i also have to study the specification, can somebody tell me if i must study the ejb-specification? ... thanks
sorry...i was a little confused about some declaration in HFEJB, but it was just my wrong perspective... by the way... HFEJB its the best EJB'Book ive ever read...
Thanks Kathy...really... thank you very much, this time i've understood everything about this...

I also have to thank you that i got my first certification a month ago (SCJP 1.4 +90%). ok, ok, i was the one who estudied, but you made it very easy for me.
Thank you very much kathy... ive alredy undertood, haven't i?... do you mean that if i do handle a creteException i dont have to throw it, but if i do handle, lets say... a insufficientFounds, do i have to throw it to the container? ... even if both are application?... what's the difference?exceptions? sorry i'm still i litle confufused
Again... im confused about some declarations in HFEJB...

BEAN PROVIDERS RESPONSABILITIES (page 544)

1.- If you bussines logic catches (or creates) an application exception, throw it to the container as the application exception.

My question....
--- if i can handle an application exception by a try/catch block, why do i still have to throw it to the container?

5.- if your bussines generates an application exception, you must had declared the exception in both your client interface and you bean class

My Question...
---- if i can handle an application exception by a try/catch block, why do i still have to declare it?

And one more confusion:

THERE ARE NO DUMP QUESTIONS (PAGE 545)
Question:
Q: ... Does this mean that you cant throw an application exception from sar, ejbActivate()?;
Answer:
thats right... you can trhow only unchecked exceptions from the container callbacks....

an just a few pages later:

SCENARIOS(page 547)

You catch checked exception in you ejbActivate method the method is not into a transaction

what do i supossed to belive? (can or can't) i throw a checked exception from de container callbacks? (ejbActivate(), ejbPassivate()...)

can anybody explain me this?... thanks
