Hi all,

I am trying to deploy a war file to a running remote tomcat server using the cargo maven plugin on hudson. This is what I have in my maven plugin:

I tried the following goals in maven:
mvn cargo:redeploy

I get the following error along with the entire html for the tomcat manager's page (It is kind of strange as to why it is spitting out the entire html)

I also tried mvn:deploy. This time, I get this error without spitting any html:

Appreciate your kind help on this. Struggling with this ever since.

Thank you.

I am getting the weird characters that Paul mentioned "& #39;" . It is appearing that way when I view on a browser. I am not sure how to fix it. The xml encoding I have is:

When this is transformed to xsl with html output, I thought it will interpret all the UTF-8 characters appropriately. It is not doing so.

I have tried this one too with the xsl output:

Nothing seems to help.

Thanks for any replies.
Hi all,

I have my xsl code like this:

I get these weird characters in my xsl output like "Sterlite's optical fiber enhanced for G.657A compliance". I tried the ISO-8859-1 encoding, but that does not seem to help either. Does anyone have ideas on how to get the apostrophe to display insetad of the numeric value of the character to display?
Thanks in advance.

Hi All,

How do I create a regular expression for html tags? Mainly I need to remove

tags from a string, but leave the content intact. Even if it removes all html tags from the string, that is fine too. I am using the String's replaceAll method, but since it needs a regex, I am not sure how to do that. Can anyone help me here? I need to turn this in by tomorrow

Thanks!

Hi,

I am using xml transform to convert xml into xsl like this:

I get an output which has the xml results as well as the xml transformed into xsl. I only want the xml tramformed into xsl. How do I avoid the xml results which also shows up in the results? I am not sure why it also gives the xml in the resultset.

Thank you!
Got it. Thank you, Bear.
Instead, I would like to now read the cookie value in javascript and do a check (if there is cookie present, then do this. Else, do that.)
Is this possible and if yes, how can I embed this javascript code in the java without an event being triggered?

Thank you for your replies.
Hi,

I need to set a cookie on a jsp with some value stored in a java variable "adID". I would need to do that after the page loads, so I use:

I would need to retrieve the cookie value on another jsp. I have the retrieve method for the cookie in javascript.

What I am not sure is how I can use this method in my jsp to retrieve the value of the cookie 'Name' into a java variable?

Any help on this is appreciated. Thank you.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to post the entire code because it is proprietary and it is huge. I noticed it depends on the length of the text I type. The longer the length, the wider the column. For instance,

In the above code, the second column is invariably larger than the first one.
Is there someways I can eliminate that dependency and have two columns of equal width irrespective of the text I have between them? Thanks.

Thank you Bear. I did fix the code to be UBB code specific.
Yes, the size of 50% or 236 in the td tag does not matter if there is content between the tags. It looks like it is dependent on the content since if I leave both the columns blank, the size is the same. If there is content which is remarkably different in the two columns, then the size of the columns also is different for some reason.
How do I fix that? Thanks.
Please take a look at this html code. I want to have two columns of equal width. For some strange reason, if there is no content between the td tags, then the two column widths is equal. Once I have content between the td tags, thats when one of the columns width is always more than the other. I mean the content is different in both the columns. Lets just say, one of the them has the content and the other does not. The one which has the content is invariably larger than the other. How can I make the two columns equal irrespective of the content? I have tried setting the width="" on both the td tags, but it doesn't seem to make any difference. I am banging my head against the wall as to why I am not able to get the same width columns. Anybody has any ideas? Thank you guys!

Thanks for your reply Nate.
I tried running Maven from command prompt. I get the same errors.
It is worth mentioning that initially, it said it was missing the settings.xml in my "documents and settings/.m2" folder when I ran it in eclipse. So, I went ahead and manually copied settings.xml into "documents and settings/.m2" from my "maven/conf" folder. It did not give me that error anymore. But, I am now stuck at a point where I don't know how to fix it having tried everything possible.
Also, here is what I get from maven console in eclipse:

4/17/08 11:19:18 PM CDT: C:\Dev\ht
4/17/08 11:19:18 PM CDT: mvn -Pjetty6 -B -s "C:\Documents and Settings\ninabinde\.m2\settings.xml" -e clean package jetty:run

I ran it with -e option to get the stacktrace. Here are a few of the errors
I get along with the stacktrace:

C:\Dev\ht\src\com\ben\ht\security\AuthenticationProcessing.java:[20,24] cannot find symbol
symbol : variable super
location: class com.ben.ht.security.AuthenticationProcessing

C:\Dev\ht\src\com\ben\ht\security\AuthenticationProcessing.java:[23,12] cannot find symbol

location: class com.ben.ht.security.AuthenticationProcessing

C:\Dev\ht\src\com\ben\ht\security\AuthenticationProcessing.java:[18,5] method does not override a method from its superclass

etc etc.......

Hi, I am using eclipse with maven plugin. When I do a jetty:run with maven inside eclipse for a project which has lot of dependencies, it is unable to find the dependencies in the maven repository even though it is all there. I am kind of lost as to why this would be happening since I made sure it is in the java build path of the project. If someone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks!

Thank you Joe. I took your suggestion not to apply on those online sites. I am about to land an interview sometime next week. The job would be quite a bit of travel for me like 1 hr in the morning and 1 hr in the evening. Is it a good idea for me to ask for telecommuting options right away in the interview or should I wait until they make me an offer and then negotiate the telecommuting option?
Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

Hi,

I am a java developer and would like to take up work from home opportunities. Any suggestions on which is the best way to go about looking for such jobs? Are sites like programmingfromhome.com, etc. good reliable resources. It charges 40$ for subscription and I am thinking of going ahead with that. What opinions do you guys have on that?

Thanks!

Hi all,

This is what I have in my requirements about the submission documents.

" A directory called docs, containing the following items at the top level:
* This html file.
* A subdirectory called javadoc, containing HTML/Javadoc documentation for all classes and interfaces you are submitting.
* A file called choices.txt that containing pure ASCII (not a word processor format) text describing the significant design choices you made. Detail the problems you perceived, the issues surrounding them, your value judgments, and the decisions that you made. This document should also describe any uncertainties you had regarding the project, and the decisions you made when resolving them.
* User documentation for the database server and the gui client. If your user documentation is online then you may omit this file. However, if the documentation is not online, you must provide either a single plain ASCII (not word processor format) text document, which must be called userguide.txt, or multiple HTML files which must all be accessible from a starting point document that must be called userguide.html. "

The only thing I don't understand is what they mean by saying "This html file."
Anybody have any ideas? Thank you so much. Can't wait to submit!!
