Hello,

Two days ago I have passed Step3 (1Z0-866). It was very strange that at the end of the exam, I have received no printed result from my local PersonVue testing center.

More, on my PersonVue.com account, my 1Z0-866 exam has status "error".

So, please share with me your experience: would I have received a print-out at the end of this exam ? (1Z0-866). What is this "error" status ?

(I've already opened a ticket on PersonVue.com but I have no answer until now).

Regards,
Catalin M.
Congratulations!

I finished the assignment and now I have to submit it and to program for the second step. Can anybody share some info about this second step of SCJD ?

Thank you for your answers.

Congratulation!

Maybe you share with me some of your design decisions - I have a similar assignment: URLyBird 1.2.3

In my assignment, there is something like this: "Your data access class must be called 'Data.java', must be in a package called "suncertify.db", and must implement the following interface" (DBAccess)" and this is a MUST.

My problem is the name of the class: "Data.java". I suppose that you had a similar request. Did you use "Data" or "Data.java" for name of you database implementation class ?

I emailed SUN with this question but they told me that are not able to help me with an answer and it should be my decision. I am totally against a class named 'Data.java' - class Data having a inner static class named 'java' but this request is a MUST - and I prefer to not fail the assignment.

Hi Kah Tang,

Logically, you are right - there is meaning in naming a class 'java'. But SCJD assignment request is very clear: a class named 'Data.java' in package suncertify.db. There is not class named 'Data' but 'Data.java'. And I remember that not respecting a MUST means automatic failure.

My solution is something like :

package suncertify.db;

public class Data {
public static class java {
}
}

I know, is stupid, but it respects a MUST from SCJD assignment.

Hi everybody,

My assignment is URLyBird 1.2.3

There is a very strange request:

"Your data access class must be called 'Data.java', must be in a package called "suncertify.db", and must implement the following interface" (DBAccess)

The very important thing is this request is a MUST. But having a class named 'Data.java' means 3 possibilities:

a)a wrong request from SUN - but this is a MUST so I cannot suppose this is a SUN's mistake.

b) I can define class "java" in package suncertify.db.Data - this means to not use Java Code Conventions.

c)more like, having a class named Data in package 'suncertify.db' and this class has a static inner class named 'java'

The difference between b) and c) is that the last one really defined that class in the specified package 'suncertify.db'.

Bot b) and c) means loosing some credits. But to not defined class Data.java (in a file named Data.java, of course) means failing the assignment.

Of course, I could send an email to who2contact@sun.com to ask about it but is possible that I do not receive an answer.

Please, comment this.

For me, it took more that 10 days. I payed 500 euro and I was quite angry, but finally, yesterday I was able to download my assignment.

I have the same error message if I try to download anything else that 'SCJD assignment with Java 2' (there are 4 choices for me).

Hi,

I have read "SCJD Exam with J2SE 5". There is something that I do not understand in implementation of sampleproject.db.DvdDatabase:

according with its javadoc, that class (DvdDatabase) will be instanciated for each connected client. OK. But there is a static member (DvdFileAccess database) that is instantiated from DvdDatabase() constructor. This means that each client will create a new DvdFileAccess - and this is marked as static. This is what I do not understand - why this DvdFileAccess is static but each new client creates a new instance ?

Hello,

I run JBoss 4.0.0 with Tomcat and every time I access a JSP, it is recompiled. (and this takes some time). Can you tell me, please, what is the solution to eliminate this problem ?

Best regards.

Hello guys,

I have a very bid problem with EJB QL: I cannot use it on complicated queries becase it has not enough power. My question is if I can use SQL statements combined with CMP in session beans facades - is this a orthodox way, is a good way, is the optim way ?

I'm on JBoss - does anybody know what are the diferences between EJB QL and JBoss QL ?

Best Regards
Hello,

I use JBoss 4.0 and I develop some local session beans that has multiple ejbCreate methods. When I try to deploy on JBoss 4.0, I receive this error message:

Section: 7.10.8
Warning: The local home interface of a stateless session bean must have one create method that takes no arguments.

That message error doesn't apprear if there is only one ejbCreate (with no params) but I receive the same error if I have more that one ejbCreate methods.

Please, help me. Is a bug in JBoss 4.0 or ... is just EJB (and why this behaviour)?

Thanks,
Cata
Hello,

I have a DynaValidatorForm with field salary with type Double. Sometimes, the user types nothing in that field (isn't interested by that field) but after the validation process on server I get 0.0 as salary's value. Why ? How can I prevent this ? Is there a hidden setting for validator plug-in ?

Thanks

Hello,

Does anybody know a hosting service for JBoss 4 or any other J2EE 1.4?
(JBoss 3.2.6 is good too).

Best regards,
CataM
sorry, but I didn't said "J2EE programmer", just "J2EE knowledge"!
