Hi,

People at what level are benefited from this book w.r.t IT. What are the prerequisites that a person should have to be able to read and understand this book.

I am not a PM but aim to become one soon. Will this book be a right choice for me to start off with.

My aim is to become an architect, will this book help me in management perspective (non-technical).

I hope like all other HF books, this will also be a great success.

Thanks,
Harathi
Hi

I have a typical situation where i have setter and getter methods like this
Item item = new Item();
item.setValue1()
Item.getValue1()
.
.
.
.
item.setValue6()
item.getValue6()

And I got a List data = {"hello","good","morning"};

I need to set these values and get them using above setter and getters..
item.setValue1(data.get(0));
item.setValue2(data.get(1));

Now, is there a simple way to do this... by using for loop or any such logic...

Thanks in anticipation!

I have the same problem. I am forced to map to a dummy table when I am calling stored procedure from hibernate mapping file. Otherwise it throws UnKnown Entity Exception.

Mark says we can overcome using scalar. I would request him to explain with an example.

Thanks

Hi

How can one capture the output of a jsp page formed in a session into an inputstream... I would need this to add some additional information to the content and pass to a Queue.

Any suggestions please..

Hi Just a basic doubt...

Can we have <servlet-mapping> without any <servlet-class> tag defined in the <servlet>... </servlet>.

Hi Patil ,

What's the SOAP engine u r using? I've worked on Apache AXIS and found it cool way to start,

Since u said u know the WSDL address all u need to do at client side is generate Client-side bindings which could be done as follows provided u installed Axis and set the path to the same.

you will need to run the Axis WSDL-to-Java tool in "org.apache.axis.wsdl.WSDL2Java".

Syntax:
java org.apache.axis.wsdl.WSDL2Java (WSDL-file-URL)

with this u generate following Java class(es):

1. For each entry in the type section - A java class
- A holder if this type is used as an inout/out parameter
2. For each portType - A java interface
3. For each binding - A stub class
4. For each service - A service interface
- A service implementation (the locator)

I hope this answers you question.
you can also refer this link

Thanks

Hi All,

Just wanted to make myself clear of this question.
Is Tomcat an Application Server?
I read somewhere that Tomcat from version 5.0 is an Application serer but I can't justify.

Can anyone justify it.

Thanks

Hi All,

I have an issue with converting unix timestamps into GMT format..
I have used this piece of code ...

I get the o/p as 1970-01-11 21:16:44.4
where as the actual output should be March 7th 1999, 11:00:00

Where am I going wrong?
Kindly help me in resolving this problem.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I would like to know the getter/setter method names for the following variable.

int sId;

I have tried with getSID(), getSid() and getSId(). But its throwing exception in all the cases.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Harathi.
I think we can do without discriminator column also. But we can not instantiate actual object out of rows in table.
