Hi

Has anybody recently applied for a work permit to UK (from India).

Is there a particular format of experience certificate required for applying for WorkPermit to UK. My prospective employer (in India) is asking for a experience certificate that mentions the kind of role that I had in my previous organization. i.e. it needs to have some lines like :

"He has worked on the various phases of software development life cycle including requirement analysis, design, development and testing. He has also been part of production support for new enhancements."

I don't find it very conviencing, why this kind of lines are required in my experience certificate ?

My current employer has denied giving me a personalized experience certificate. They will issue me with the regular template that they have.

Has anybody faced similiar situation ?

It used to be among the best pay masters of Hyderabad in past. (say 3-4 yaars back), but I am not sure how many companies actually were operating from Hyderabad at that time.

Now is is kinf of average pay master.. but has got a pretty good brand name as such. Work culture is good.. and one can expect some on-site opportunity as well. but largly depends on the project you are on...

They are expanding now a days..

Hi
Could some one guide me on these issues related to relocating to Amdocs/Cyprus, from India.
1. Cost of Living in Cyprus : a decent life style for a couple with no kids.
2. Work culture in Amdocs : any knd of discrmination/exploitation, knowing that a person can not move jobs easily, once in Cyprus.
3. Expected salary in J2EE domain: MTech-Computers from top ranked college and 3 years experience, working with a big MNC, have an offer of 8+ LPA in India.
4. Saving potential : main reason to think about Amdocs/Cyprus
5. Any job/further study optins for a lady with MBA in HR and 2 years experience in a management consultancy ?
6. Options open/closed, once you come back from Cyprus (say) 2-3 years later.

I have tracked the previous posts on Amdocs/Cyprus long back and saw some comments from Kishore/Arjun etc. but I need a more updated and recent info related to the above points.

If some one knows any Indian working in Amdocs, and can share his/her mail id, it will be very helpful. I will directly get in touch with those people. and it will give me some confidence.

Hi Arjun
some s/w companies also work in shifts.. according to US times. I appeared in an Interview for one of these companies, And I came to know very late that their regular working timings are 2 PM to 11 PM.
I straight away said no to that.

If you are getting an offer, you can clear your doubt before joining. Also all the positions seem to involve coding/customization etc so will they be having night shift? Now a days many companies advertize the positions for job of programming/design etc but in reality profiles of those jobs are sometimes different. So its better to check before joining.

I really did not meant about night shift that is coming at 9 in night and going in the morning.. what I meant was some thing like the example i gave earlier... I understand that you need to work sometimes on different timezones..and in some it is kind of a routine... but (1) in some organizations, they tell you very clearly, and (2) in some you come to know of that, once you join the organization....

I don't want to get into the bracket (2).

Thanks Arjun for your comments..

Any idea about the number of employees in the company ? worldwide/India office ?
Came to know that some times one has to work in night shift, to manage with the teams in US. Any idea, if it is very frequent, or once in a blue moon..
I mean, is it a kind of regular or really SOME times.. ..
