yep...It was my mistake...I read that the equestion is '...when the object refernced by s is eligible for GC...'. Since before line 4 , '....s = s + r; //3
...' was used, so my answer was s will never be eligible for GC. But the actual question was '....when the INITIAL object referenced by s will be eligible for GC.....'

The the answer is definitely....Before statement labeled 4. since at line 3 s has been assigned to a different object and s is referring to a different object. Having said that, the INITIAL object reference by s will become eligible for GC.

Thanks guys!!!

I am not sure why you are hesitant of executing the query just after the update to populate the global resultset. Why you are too much thoughfull about memory. You should be worried by the memory management.

There is no method by means of which you will update/insert/delete any record and keep track of the data; you need to fire query to get the data.
in case of CallableStatement, execute() method does now execute any SQL, rather it executes PL/SQL procedure/function. In this case, CallableStatement.execute() neither have ResultSet within the CallableStatement nor an UpdateCount. You should retrieve the out parameter using CallableStatement.getXXX() method. That is why you are having FALSE return value and the returned resultset is NULL.

Hopefully this clarifies your query.
I have a MDB which listen to a particular Queue. I have configured a pool of 10 instance of MDB. So if I send a message to that particular queue, does my mssage reach to only one instance of MDB or it will reach to all MDB with in the pool. And again what will happen if my MDB listen to a topic instead of queue(pool with remain same)?

yeahh..thats correct...because GC checkes whether the reference is being used anymore or not before doing garbage collection...since before line 4 the reference of s is being used so it will not be collected before the method returns.

Hi there,
I am not sure why you are passing array of date object to JComboBox.If I am not wrong you are using SimpleDateFormat class to have a format of date..Correct? Then you can use SimpleDateFomate.fomat(Date date) which returns String. You accumulate those String in array and then pass the array of string to JComboBox.

Hi Monarch,
I think you are showing the user name in some text area or text pane which eventually resides with in some Panel(JPanel). So if you want to display user name dynamically you need to update the panel using panel.updateUI().Or you need to update the text component using same method.

Hope you will enjoy this

I want to create a class which will provide me 5 or cusomizable number of connection. It will be something like connection(oracle data base) pooling. I can create it by opening multiple connection simultaneously...But is it there any other standard way to do so.

Please help me out.
Thanks in advance.
