Lets list out some of the proverbs, which would have moved us a lot positively in our life. To start with:

Winners don't do different things; They do things differently!!

The best way to end an argument is to just avoid it!!

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail

India just played 3 games in the last world cup. And Sachin wasn't the only person who didn't play well. It was the entire Indian Team which didn't play well. So, no one can blame Sachin in individual.

If somebody comes and asks you whether "You are working for the company or Working for yourself?". Your answer would surely be "I'm working for myself" which would be a wise answer too, as it implies that, if I work for myself, my company would grow in virtue of it.

Similary, if Sachin was not playing for himself, India would not have grown as a strong team as it is like now. And one more thing, no one can play just for records. If anybody tries to play that way, they wouldn't achieve much. But if someone plays with good sportsmanship and team spirit, records or achievements will come in search of them, as in the case of Sachin.

The word "pathum" in this proverb doesn't mean number 10. The word "pathu" in tamil has some other meaning.

For eg. if you have an headache, in earlier days they say "pathu pottukko". This statement says to apply some ointment to your forehead for your headache. The word "pathu" here referred to wiping off your headache by applying some medicine.

In another instance, in olden days they say "pathu theikkanum", which means that they need to wash the used vessels after cooking. In this context, "pathu" refers to washing and cleaning of vessels.

Similarly, in your proverb, the word "pathu" refers to wiping or cleaning or removing or changing etc can be done by money which means money can do anything.
