PWC has to pay more to attract resouces else there would be very little reason for people to join PWC as an software professional.

The offering is same from both. The point is whether the exp of working in PWC will push career growth more than CTS. Which one would be more beneficial in long run?

PWC would be more consulting/manager kind of role, CTS more technical role with onsite opportunities.

Hi,

I am looking out for a change after quite many number of years. I have 8.5 years of experience and its been more than 4 years with the current organization. I have given few interviews, have 1-2 offers as well from big organizations. They are offering salaries as per their salary bands and its salary cut for me.

1) Is salary cut advisable to get into big organizations?

2) Should i accept the offer from them and continue search or refuse the offer (want to have some back up).

Thanks
Sachin

Skytech(Again its TCG group)

How is PwC ? iN terms of work Culture/ salary/ growth opportunities. I am having a discussion with them for job opportunity.

Any inputs about it are welcome. Also if someone can map the Levels with approx no of yrs of exp that will be helpful. I have close to 8 years of exp and want to understand what level should i expect

I have also heard a similar scenario from HR of Wipro. One of my friends cleared all the techy rounds of the interview, HR person contacted him and asked to fill the HR form. He filled the HR form, sent it back and since then he has not heard from them. Its almost 2 months now. He wrote an email also, but no response...

Weird...No?

I think the practice has been started by consultants to avoid non-serious applicants. Earlier some people used to file H1 from multiple sources (not sure whetehr that was legal) and then chose any/none.

How much is your work Ex?

I think Shipra it depends on the company. a small setup or good paymasters like google,Adobe could be ready to pay but i think Infy, Wipro, CTS, et al. would have some issues in paying such figures..

How is the work environment and growth opportunities in Covansys? Apparently FNF work is the ODC work with very few onsite opportunities. is that assumption correct?

yes, companies are paying well. But its not happening at all levels in the IT industry. I am not aware of many companies paying more than 15 lpa for people in 7-10 yrs experience range

This is a new pattern that has recently emerged in the market for people in 2-4 years of experience range and at the top level (CEO,CTO). They have got a sudden jump in their salaries.

For other folks its still following the old pattern. Not sure how the market and junta going to respond to it.
