Hi,

I have passed this exam some 3 months back and you guys can refer to my earlier post on this forum regarding Test 399...

And yes I had found the actual exam tougher than mock test.

All the best....

Hello,

I am trying to build jdk1.4.2 from source on linux and it gives me following error when I try to run gmake from /control/make directory. Any help appreciated:

Tim,

thanks for this information. let me try this and see if this works. Actually I need to run an appropriate web server and application server too after installing JDK on NetBsd.

Until now I have done these on Windows/Unix only. So any tip/pointers/links to do this will be appreciated.

Thanks

Dheeraj
Nick,

I am a big fan of K&B books... Do you knw when SCJP5.0 will be available for purchase ?

Dheeraj
No I did not plan for it.

But let me plan it now .

Any recomended resources for taming the tiger ?

Dheeraj
Yes Nick, as usual right said fred !

If it is paid by company then any exam is OK.

But its embarassing personally for me, for not taking SCJP so far

Still I will have to do what my company expects from me

Dheeraj
hmmm ICED would be my personal choice because I do not know anyting about SCJA beta

But my company wants me to do something in WBI ... so guess after 399 it might be time for 993 ...

Dheeraj
Thanks Nick ! Thanks Tong !

The long list of certifications following the name of Ranchers has always being top inspiration (and perspiration )for me.

IBM 399 is my first success, genuine thanks to this site and all the fabulous people who mingle here.

Nick, any suggestions what should be next ?

Thanks Jayadev,

I strongly feel that you should read the redbooks as recomended for IBM 399
http://www-03.ibm.com/certify/tests/edu399.shtml

Be thorough with JSR 168 specification (Recomended book is Java Portlet API by Linwood and Minter)

Make sure to read about struts portlet, business process portlet, service portlets and lot of portlet JSTL stuff as I have mentioned before.

Thanks
Hello Ranchers,

Just coming back from exam center and I was able to clear IBM 399 Websphere Portal V5.1 Application Development Test !

The exam is not very difficult to pass with adequate preparation but I found it difficult to score higher percentage !!!

Lot of questions on Portlet API JSTL tags used for JSP's. Also recomended is that you know RAD 6.0 installation and trouble shooting in detail.

Can anyone tell me if i can use IBM logo now ? And which IBM logo I can use? Score card is not send to me immediately on mail. I only have a printed result copy given my VUE test center.

Thanks
Dheeraj
