If a stateless session bean instance starts a transaction in a business method, it must commit the transaction before the business method returns. The Container must detect the case in which a transaction was started, but not completed, in the business method, and handle it as follows:
Log this as an application error to alert the system administrator.
 Roll back the started transaction.
Discard the instance of the session bean.
Throw the java.rmi.RemoteException to the client if the client is a remote client, or throw the javax.ejb.EJBException if the client is a local client.

thank you very much

Hi ranchers,

Just cleared SCBCD with 100% today.

First of all, thanks to Javaranch n all the ranchers!! All of you are so great n it's such a wonderful place for sharing.

HFEJB is undoubtedly the tremendous book for preparation. Thousand thanks to Kathy n Bert for such an amazing masterpiece. I scored 80% (56/70) in the final mock of HFEJB. With the addition of the mock tests from ejbcertificate.com and jdiscuss.com, I make it after about one-month's preparation.

Thanks to all again n all the best!

Hi ranchers,

For a stateless session bean with BMT, is sessionContext.getUserTransaction() a valid call within ejbCreate()?

thanks!!

RL
Hi ranchers,

would anyone help me to make this clear :-

If a stateless session bean with BMT starts a transaction in a method and completes without committing or rolling back, what will happen? will exception be thrown? or will the bean instance be discarded?

thanks.

Hello,

I recently passed SCJP. Now i am thinking to take SCBCD test. Can anyone guide me which book to read for the preparation.

Also wanted some guidance regarding which certification is better SCBCD or Certification for Web Service developer. I worked on EJB in past.

<<Head First EJB>> is a pretty good choice for the preparation of SCBCD test; and all things in SCBCD are talking about and around "EJB".

RL.
Hi ranchers,

any good SCJP 5 book(s) suggested for a SCJP 1.4 holder?
thanks!

RL
Hi all ranchers,

I'm a beginner in EJB and I have a query in mind. What are the pros and cons of using EJB against the traditional javabeans? It seems that it's quite complicated to adopt EJB as we have many things to implement as what told in the spec.

Grateful if someone can help. Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
RL
