Smilies -also known as graemlins or emoticons- are keyboard characters used to convey an emotion, such as a smile or a frown . This message board automatically converts certain smilies to a graphical representation, which we call graemlins. You can use our Instant Graemlins buttons for automatic generation. For example, if you type in your post, it will automatically be converted to - - a shameful face.
It turns out that many of these simple words and gestures have different meanings around the world, so we've added some explanations to help you figure out what they're supposed to mean.
