Now that we are on new forum software, it seems nice to have a list of "where did ___________ go"
Feature in UBB | Location in JForum |
Next/previous buttons between pages | Use the page numbers to navigate a thread |
Next/previous buttons between threads | Open multiple tabs from the forum list to view threads in order |
My Watches | My Bookmarks implements the bookmarking part, but be aware that JForum has no page that lists all the topics you're watching. If you ever receive a notification about a topic you're no longer interested in, go to the topic page and click the "Stop Watching" button at the bottom. You can also delete all watches on the My Profile page. |
UBBFriend: Email this page to someone | JForum does not support this |
Private Messages: Ignore List and Buddy List | JForum does not support these |
UBB tag - list start/end | JForum uses pairs of rather than an explicit start/end |
UBB e-mail tag | Gone. You can type name AT domain DOT com if you don't want to post it in plain text. Posting e-mails is rare anyway and pretty much limited to the jobs discussion forum |
Emoticons | Some of them look a bit different, but they're all available, most of them with the same shortcuts. |
Member # | Click on the member's name to see the full profile with the member id. It's also the # in the link. |
Accented characters in display name and signature | If your accents didn't get through OK, you can fix them in your profile. Click the My Profile link at the top of the page. |
My home page | Click your profile and see website entry |
How to delete a post | Posts can not be deleted (UBB supported this, but JForum doesn't.) |
Private Messages | While UBB allows the sender of a PM to see whether it has been read, JForum does not support this. |
